How to send a loan to your borrower (White Label partners)

Guide for White Label partners on how and when to send a manual loan to their borrower

Written by Nathan at New Silver

When you create a manual loan, your borrower is not notified and has no access to their loan portal until you explicitly send the loan to them. This gives you full control over when your borrower is brought into the process.

Sending from the confirmation screen

At the end of the manual application wizard (Step 4 — Confirmation), click Send to Borrower. A confirmation dialog appears before anything is sent. On confirming:

  • The loan is saved in the system if it has not already been saved.

  • The borrower receives an email with a link to their loan cabinet and the preliminary term sheet attached.

  • The loan moves from Partner only to Sent to borrower.

  • The borrower now receives all future loan communications from this point forward.

Sending from the Loans list

If you saved the loan without sending it, you can send it later from your Loans list:

  • Locate the loan in your Loans list.

  • In the Action Required column, click the Send to Borrower icon (visible only on Partner only loans).

  • Alternatively, expand the loan detail row and click the Send to Borrower button in the action row.

  • A confirmation dialog appears before anything is sent. Confirm to send.

Sending triggered by appraisal payment

Later, when you click Pay Appraisal and choose Borrower, if the loan is still Partner only you are asked to confirm that this will send the loan to the borrower first. On confirming, the borrower receives the loan access email and the appraisal invoice together. You cannot send an appraisal invoice to a borrower who has not yet been given access to the loan.

What the borrower receives

When the loan is sent, the borrower receives an email from your company name (with replies routed to you) containing:

  • A link to access their loan cabinet.

  • The preliminary term sheet attached.

  • The proof of funds letter attached (for purchase loans).

From their loan cabinet the borrower can view their loan, upload documents, and complete the remaining steps required for underwriting.

After sending

Sending the loan does not lock it. You can continue to edit fees and loan details after sending, up until the appraisal invoice is sent. Once the appraisal invoice is sent the loan is locked and no further edits can be made from your side — changes then go through New Silver.

If terms are updated after the loan has been sent to the borrower — for example following the soft credit pull at appraisal payment — the borrower automatically receives an updated term sheet.
